We've been busy for the past few weeks, sorting out all sorts of stuff.
We recorded 11 songs for our new album, which looks like it will be
coming out in January, 2004 on Kanine Records. It's entitled Some Wilderness.
We recorded at Marcata Studios in Harlem, and it turned out really nicely.

Our famous bassist Yong Sing has unfortunately disappeared. He skipped
town the day we finished recording and we haven't seen him since. We
are assuming the worst, as we have not heard from him in nearly two weeks.
We are going to start playing with a new bass player tomorrow, as it doesn't
look like Yong Sing is coming back. YS - if you see this - call us.

07-21-03

We are heading to Georgia for a one-off show this Wednesday at East
Hotlanta hotspot The Earl, but will be back in NYC by Saturday, as
we are playing at Lit, on Second Avenue, that night, with Qatsi and
possibly someone else. It will be cheap. You all should come out for
this one to show your support as it will be our last show ever with
our enigmatic bass player Yong Sing, as he will be going off to med
school in Mid-August. It will also be our last show before we head into
the studio to record our album, tentatively titled Chinese Democracy.

07-03-03

We are playing TWO shows next Saturday July 12th, the first at the
Ampitheatre on the Lower East Side, the one where they filmed Wild
Style. More info here. We will be playing with indie rock veterans
The Scene is Now before we head over to Sine to play with James
Chance, Mommy and Daddy, and The Flesh.

06-17-03

Our next show is next Friday, June 27th, at Namedroppers. It is a new
party happening weekly at Luxx, apparently. We are the only band playing
and it's only five dollars. After that, we are absolutely thrilled to be
playing with James Chance himself on July 12th at Sine.

We are going to try and play a lot in July, and we might possibly be going
to Atlanta and back for a very brief tour. As of now, we have some sad news,
it looks as if our bassman Yong Sing will be attending medical school at
Georgetown beginning in mid-August, as he has failed at all attempts to
finagle his way into Columbia. We are thus looking for a new bassist, but
but on the chance that YS actually does get into a local school, then he
will continue to play.

We are recording our album at the end of July/early August, what looks to
be 11 songs now....we are very excited to get some of these songs down
on tape, it's been a long time....

05-19-03

It looks like Spring has finally arrived, and with it, so have we! Thanks
to those of you who came out on Saturday for the comp. release show at
North Six. We enjoyed the Mazing Vids Minny Pops/Attack Under Attack-esque
songs, My Favorite's welcome return and The Fever's inspired set. Thanks
to Lio and Kay for asking us to play, and for their hard work on the comp.

Recording the radio show for WPRB was fun, we recorded six songs, and it
will be broadcast in its entirety on Wednesday, May 21st. Philadelphia,
Princeton and Trenton fans can tune in on 103.3FM...if anyone who lives
there could tape it and send it to us, that would be fantastic.

Because people have been asking us how to get a copy of our ep, we're
going to post more detailed instructions on the "music" page in the next
few days, but until then, if you send us an SASE we can send you our ep
for $5, along with a copy of the lyrics to Nevermind.

We might be going to Boston in the next few weeks, but as of now our next
New York show will be Friday, June 27th, at Luxx, for the Namedroppers party,
and we're going to do something special, more details to cum.

04-29-03

Thanks to everyone who came out last night for support at Pianos, and to
The Boggs and Cause For Applause for lending us equipment when the
indestructable Saab broke down, and we needed some help. The 'Sup
Magazine show was a lot of fun last week too, and we enjoyed playing with
The Flesh and The Stills.

We'll be traveling to the Swamps of Jersey in the next few weeks to record
a radio show for Jon Solomon of My Pal God Records, on Princeton station
103.3 FM. Also, you can see our video for Co-Op City on Clixtraxxx on
your favorite B-CAT channel.

In other news, it looks like we'll be recording a 10 song album some time in
July, and we're really excited.

04-08-03

Back online, finally, after some server problems made it impossible for
us to update in over a month. A lot has been happening, and we've played
some fun out of town shows, and we're looking forward to playing a few
in the City in the next month or so.

This Thursday, we'll be playing the East River Music Project Benefit at
Luxx with friends Coup Fourre and Mommy and Daddy, and then on Monday,
April 28th, we'll be at Pianos with The Boggs, and Saturday May 17th, we'll
be at North Six with The Fever, My Favorite, Mazing Vids, and Stellastar.

Thanks to Lora at Bard, and Ernie and Matt in Boston for helping with the
out of town shows. Gold and Tristan Da Cunha were both a joy to watch and
we're looking forward to having them come down for some shows in New York.

03-03-03

Wow. That's the first time today I noticed what the date was, impressive.
But not nearly so much as August 8th, 1988.

Anyway, thanks to all who made it out to the Stinger on Saturday night. We
had a great time, it all went smoothly, and the bands were awesome. Swiss
Dot played first, and charmed us with their pretty tweelectro and somehow
sad songs.

We're playing with Turing Machine of all bands on Friday, March 7th, at Luxx.
We're a last minute addition to the bill, as The Seconds had to cancel as Brian
has another band called the yeah yeah yeahs that are on tour.

02-20-03

Last night we played Luxx, and it was really fun. Thanks so much to everyone
who made it out. Mike and I are off for a week's vacation in our favorite
Sunshine State, FLA, but we'll be back next Friday, for a show Saturday March
first, at the Stinger with Cause Comotion and Love is All.

Love is All is on tour from Sweden, and feature one or more members of March
Records stars Girlfrendo, who were really awesome. They played at NYU a few
years ago with Aisler's Set and Comet Gain, and were great. Cause Comotion
is a new band who've been featured on John Peel and are all incredibly nice guys
from the city playing fast reverby indie pop, with more than a hint of the
Television Personalities. It should be amazing, we're really excited. See you soon.

02-05-03

Alright, the show at Luxx on the 19th is five dollars, and we're playing with The
Holy Fallout, from PA, and The Fakers. Should be good, come show your support.

We have a bunch of potential shows coming up, including a few out of town at Bard
and in one our favorite cities, Boston.

01-27-03

We'd like to thank everyone for the support you've shown in the past week, it means
a lot to us, and especially to Mike.

We've added a press page to post the reviews of our EP. We're incredibly happy
that people seem to genuinely like our CD, which is a bit of a shock, and more
than a pleasant surprise. We'll add more scathing reviews as they come in.

As of right now, it looks like our next show will be at Luxx on Febuary 19th
with The Double. More info to come....

01-21-03

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our show this Thursday, due to a family emergency.
The show will still be going on as scheduled at Galapagos.

Our deepest sympathies are with Mike and his family.

01-17-03

We are psyched for the show next Thursday, January 23rd at Galapagos in Williamsburg.
It's a benefit for the East River Music Project. It's a good cause, and we're playing
with some good bands: The Double, Onairlibrary, and Coup Foure, so come out early (as
we're going on at 8pm) and show your support.

In other news, we are going to be on a compilation being put out by Kanine Records.
It's going to have a a bunch of Brooklyn bands on it, and we're excited about it.
We're recording the song we are submitting, "For Buds, Not Boston" this weekend.

12-23-02

Our friends Navy asked if we want to play with them at the Knitting Factory
this Saturday with them and Men's Tennis. We'll be playing in the Old Office
around 9PM.

R.I.P. Joe Strummer. In celebration of this great musician's life we will be
listening to "Overpowered by Funk" on continuous rotation for the remainder
of 2002.

12-09-02

We've just updated the website with a bunch of mp3s, including three of
our newest recordings. Check it out in the music section!

12-05-02

We've spent the past month writing a few new songs and recording a demo of
some of the newer stuff, which we're really excited about. We recorded five
songs on November 23rd, on a friend's four track, which we had no idea how to
use, but miraculously the songs came out really well. Our next scheduled show
is not until January 23rd, with The Double and a few other bands that aren't
confirmed yet. We're looking to play at least once before then. We've all
been really busy and haven't had a chance to practice as much as we'd llike,
but hopefully after the holidays and after Yong Sing applies to med school,
we'll be around a bit more.

10-31-02

Happy Halloween. The song of the day is definitely "Everyday is Halloween"
by Ministry. Thanks to everyone who came out on Monday at the Knitting
Factory. Thanks to Abby for the beautiful flyers. The show went really well. Navy
and Breaker! Breaker! were both awesome and made it a pleasant experience
Unfortunately the Ghost Exits didn't make it but I had the pleasure of seeing them
on Friday at some party and they were great.

R.I.P Jam Master Jay.

10-25-02

The last show at the Knitting Factory went really well. Coup Fourre played the
best we've seen them, and then Gil Mantera's Party Dream put on quite a
spectacle. Donny Mantera's voice is amazing, and the vocoder was ace.

We're playing the Knitting Factory Old Office Space this Monday, the 28th,
just in time for CMJ, of which we are not a part. The new Nirvana song is
a bit of a let down, but I'm sure Cobain's journals coming out next week will
make up for it.

10-10-02

We're touring the Knitting Factory in the next couple weeks. We're really looking
forward to playing with some friends. Friday, Oct. 18th with Coup Fourre at the
alterknit space and Monday the 28th we'll be playing with Navy at the Old Office.
Both are at 74 Leonard Street, where Tribeca and Chinatown unhappily collide.

Our EP is now available at the local stores in New York City, including Kims, Rocks
in Your Head, Sam Goody, Sound and Fury as well as some others.

09-10-02

Here we are, it's Tuesday 9/10. Thank's everyone for coming out last week to see
us again at the Local. Thanks to The Star Band for rocking after us and for
helping us set up. Thanks to Company for just being phenomenal.

Upcoming, we'll be playing with pals Coup Fourre at the Knitting Factory Alt-Space
on Oct 18th. We're looking to set up something with Mommy and Daddy pretty soon
as well as Company. Keep checking.

09-04-02

We're playing tomorrow night at the Local, with Company and Star Band. We're going on at
9:30. It should be an awesome show, and it will be cheap, so please come check it out.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the on Saturday, we had a great time
and really appreciate the attendance. We managed to remain unscathed despite
all the potential for disaster. Thanks to Mike G. for doing the door, and
Jonathan for the ace flyers. And the Mr. Move, who kept the party going into
the wee hours of the morning.

08-22-02

The Weigh Down, a great band that has recently moved to the city from Connecticut
featuring former members of seminal mid nineties hardcore band In Vain, is playing
the Local show. The show starts at 8PM now, and we encourage everyone to come.

Mike and I went to see Mommy and Daddy on Monday night, friends who have just started
playing out, but are definitely going to be huge. It looks like we'll be playing
with them at the end of October at Luxx, it will be sweet. More details to come.

In other news, the website FM Sound.org reviewed our ep, and you can check out the
review here. Just pretend the reviewer doesn't mention she knows us.

08-19-02

Last night we played Luxx, here’s the long and short of it:

We arrived at the club all by different means: Mike in the mini van we had gotten
from the car service, filled with all of our gear except the drum set, which YS carried
to the show on foot, across the Williamsburg bridge from our practice space in the LES.
I arrived via bicycle, as I had forgotten our cds at home, which we were planning on
selling. When locking up my bike, I put the cds on a dumpster outside the club, and,
an hour later when realizing they were missing, went back outside to find that they
had been stolen. We can only hope by a kid with a label, who soon will be calling us
to re-issue the disc. In the end,it didn’t matter that they had been stolen, as there
was no one at the show that didn’t already have one.

Inside the club, things were looking better. As the show time (8 PM) became closer,
three people had arrived, all of whom we included on the guest list. Minutes before
we took the stage, one devoted fan managed to find his way into the club and shell out
the $14 entrance fee just to see his favorite CCR cover band, the oxford collapse.

As we took the stage, we noticed that YS’s Wah pedal had been sabotaged by the band
playing after us, Noisy Le Grand (great name!) and that my cymbal stands had been
stripped of all wing nuts so that once hit, would immediately collapse and be unplayable.

Through all the bullshit, we still managed to play our fourth best live set of all time,
culminating with the entire five member audience ripping off their clothes and dancing
lewdly to the last 20 seconds of “Melting the Ice Queen.” We were high on the excitement
of it all, plus the one free well drink that had been provided each of us, when the booker of
the show approached us. “What happened? You guys only brought one person?” he asked, before
demanding that we pay him to cover the sound guy. An argument ensued which I thankfully was not
a part of but which included such quotables as “dude, I grew up on St. Marks,” “You guys will never
play in New York again” and “kid, I own the police.” It was resolved rather effectively, after we
shelled out $20, and the guy is now putting out our next record. So basically, with the expense
reports filled out, including the cost of playing, transportation, and the lost cds, last night’s
show cost us $100. Amazing.

Thanks to everyone that came last night: Sara, Kim, Wayne, Lauren, Abby (oh wait), Ahuja, and Adam.

We are playing the Local two Saturdays from now (the 31st), with best friends Coup Fourre, Reed
Rothchild, The Enormous Room, and hopefully someone else. The show will cost $4, so we will murder
each and every one of you if you don’t show up. Peace, love, and understanding. - Dan

07-31-02

Well, after all the talk, the new site is finally here. We'll be updating with some
new content, new pics, etc. in the next couple weeks.

07-24-02

Thanks to everyone who came out to Siberia last Friday for the ridiculous show with
Coup Fourre and Aeroplanes. After the flood, The Aeroplanes played a great first show,
and The Coup Fourre rocked after us. We, in the middle, did not play or rock so well.
We had some equipment problems (Jessie-sorry about the bass amp) and were generally
sloppier than we wanted to be. You should see us in practice. Actually you can, in our
soon to be released video.

Our self-released CDEP is finally available. You can send us $5 for a copy. Right now we
only have a few, but the rest will be ready by the end of next week.

We're playing August 31st, a Saturday, at the Local Bar in Williamsburg. We'll keep you
updated on who with and how many times.

The new website will also be up next week. Thanks to Jessie for the help with that.

We love you all, we call a truce on all current band wars.
